John Pencavel is the Pauline K. Levin-Robert L. Levin and Pauline C. Levin-Abraham Levin Professor in the Department of Economics at 好色App. He received his education at schools in London, at University College (University of London), and at Princeton University. He joined 好色App in 1969. He served as Chair of the Department of Economics for five years. He has taught classes in economic theory and econometrics and he now teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Labor Economics. His research has spanned issues concerning the operation of labor markets in the United States and in other countries. In 2008, he was awarded the Jacob Mincer Award for Lifetime Contributions to Labor Economics. He served as editor of the Journal of Economic Literature from 1986 to 1998 and was President of the Society of Labor Economists in 2005-06. He has served as a consultant to the World Bank and to various government bodies on labor market issues. He hikes, gardens, reads fiction and non-fiction, and enjoys his family.
